Tampa Bay Walk for Wishes
February 8, 2020

Walk For Wishes is a nationwide fundraiser for Make-A-Wish that celebrates wishes that have been granted while raising funds for future wishes. Prior to this event, I assisted in getting the teams ready for the walk, organized signage from our sponsors and gathered the supplies ready for the event.

The day of the walk, I arrived early with the other employees to help set up the different areas and stations at the event location. This included decorating the Wish Family tent and setting up the signage from the sponsors on the course of the walk. During the event, I ran part of the registration desk and helped people who had not yet signed up. This event was very fun to be apart of, I loved seeing all the companies that came out to support Make-A-Wish.

Prior to this event, I helped the Development Team get together all the supplies needed for the event and organized the display of auction items. After helping set up for the luncheon, I worked at the registration table where I set up guests for online bidding and purchases. During the event, I assisted wherever my director needed me and was a bid spotter for a high-end auction package. This event was my favorite so far, it was very high-energy and lots of fun.

Prior to the golf tournament, I was in charge of organizing the participants' information to make registration cards for the foursomes and name tags for the volunteers. I assisted the development team with any preparations in packing and setting up for this event. During the event, I ran the check-in desk for the distribution of Wedges for Wishes merchandise. I then monitored the hole-in-one for a cash price on the course, and gathered and distributed the pictures of the foursomes. When the golfing was over, I helped with the raffle prizes and then the overall take-down of the event. This event was very enjoyable and different from the other fundraising events held by Make-A-Wish Southern Florida.

Dishes and Wishes
November 13, 2020

Dishes and Wishes is a virtual fundraising event hosted live from The Armature Works Test Kitchen in Tampa, FL. Guests received the curated ingredients needed to cook alongside the SALTBLOCK Chef virtually from home. Throughout the night, a Silent and Live auction took place, allowing guests to bid from their phones on high-end auction packages.

Prior to the event, I was in charge of seeking out donation items that would sell at the Silent and Live Auction at Dishes and Wishes and were specific to items that could be used at home and were COVID-19 restriction-friendly. I was in communication with businesses ranging from local to national levels to obtain the best auction items per this event and their auction packages. One being a sizable donation package from Seminole Hard Rock Hotel Package and a donation from Whole Foods Market. Overall, the auction items from the event raised over $110,000 for wishes, surpassing Make-A-Wish Southern Florida's goal of $80,000.
